Living Environment Course Description

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Welcome to Living Environment! This is a class that ends in the Living Environment Regents Examination, opening the way to GRADUATION by fulfilling the Regents exam science requirement. It is a full year class and requires students to apply themselves to learning activities that are rigorous and college-preparatory. The class will involve many interesting activities centered on the topics covered during the course of the year. There will be many opportunities for scientific investigations during the laboratory component of the class. Each student must sit for at least 1200 minutes of lab time in order to meet the Regents requirement, so attendance is crucial to success. Tutoring will also be available at selected times over the course of the year. Our curriculum is transitioning to reflect New York State’s transition to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
