Ms. Martins' Chemistry and Health Careers

My name is Ms. Martins, and I am a passionate educator who has been teaching at John Dewey High School for the past seven years. I am proud to have earned a degree in Health Science from Stony Brook University, and I bring my love of science and learning to every class I teach. Currently, I am pursuing a doctorate in education from Northeastern University.

At John Dewey, I have the privilege of teaching various courses, including Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Health Careers. Although Chemistry was not my strongest subject when I first encountered it, I was determined to master it. Through hard work and determination, I developed effective study habits that allowed me to excel in the course. As a teacher, I aim to inspire my students to approach their studies with a similar mindset, encouraging them to embrace challenges and develop effective learning strategies.

In my classroom, I strive to build meaningful connections with my students. I can tailor my instruction and assignments to help each student succeed by understanding their unique needs and learning styles. I am excited to continue working with my students and helping them achieve their academic goals.
