Mr. Luchun

Phil Luchun was born in 1956 in Brooklyn, NY. His parents were in their forties, his nearest sibling was ten years older. Mr. Luchun credits the unlikely victory of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers over the Yankees as the cause.

Born at the last trimester of the “Baby Boom”, he remembers crouching under desks to drill for nuclear bombs in the second grade. JFK was assassinated when he was in third grade. Mr. Luchun attributes some of the nihilism of the sixties to this dreaded notion that it could all go up in a sizzling fryer not unlike the ones cooking your favorite fries at the fast food drive thru.

Mr. Luchun is a 31-year veteran of the NYC DOE; accredited in Vermont and New York as a social studies teacher, His favorite subject to teach is financial literacy. He currently teaches Law.

He is an avid jogger and his hobbies include drawing, reading, film making and intellectual properties. He owns a patent and a trademark.

He often tells his students that it is much harder to be a “kid” today then when he was their age.

He is optimistic and positive and believes that everyone should try their best.
