About Me

My name is Galina Ruzis. I am an ENL Teacher at John Dewey High School.

This is my 30^th year teaching at JDHS.

I have a master’s degree in TESOL from Adelphi University.

I want every student to feel comfortable and welcome in my classroom. I have high expectations for my students and believe that a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere helps students’ academic achievement.

When I am not teaching, I like reading, watching movies, and hiking.

Most of all, I enjoy traveling around the world and meeting people of different cultures.
