John Dewey High School’s sports program began in the Fall of 2011. At Dewey, we believe there is more to sports than earning scholarships. The coaches in the Dragon sports program emphasize teamwork and camaraderie. They impart the understanding that the priority of a student-athlete is academics first then athletics. Students will not be permitted to play in games if they do not maintain academic eligibility. Student-athletes are expected to be role models for how a student is to behave at John Dewey and may be excluded from games or the team if they do not behave appropriately.
All student-athletes must complete a medical form and parental consent form prior to the first tryout.
